Accident with injuries in Machesney Park

Machesney Park, Ill. — A single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning shut down both lanes of traffic on Latham Road in Machesney Park and prompted a medical response that included CPR efforts at the scene.

Emergency crews were called to the crash at approximately 9 a.m. North Park Fire Department responded to the incident, where at least one person was reported injured. First responders immediately began life-saving measures, including CPR, officials said.

Authorities closed both directions of the roadway while crews worked to stabilize the victim(s) and clear the wreckage. The closure caused traffic delays in the area as drivers were detoured around the scene.

Update (as of late morning): Both lanes have since been reopened and traffic is flowing normally once again.
